Q: Why is colour management important when printing?

Colour management is important when we want display or print images and colours correctly - as perceived by our human eyes.

At this point in time our own eyes are still the most sensitive instrument for detecting the hues and shades of colours (including monochrome).

However we still do not have printing processes (even the most avant garde) that can reproduce the colour range that we can observe in our natural world.

Therefore we use colour management to make our images 'look' as close as possible to to what our own eyes can perceive.
